# WooCommerce merchant

Shoe AR try-on on WooCommerce uses the **WEARFITS Shoes Tryon** WordPress plugin. You need a Dashboard API key. Clothing try-on is a separate, earlier-stage plugin.

Live demo: [woo-demo.wearfits.com](https://woo-demo.wearfits.com)

!!! warning "What the shoes plugin does not do"
It does not recommend a shoe size, and it does not digitize bags. Shoe size is [a separate embed](../shoes/recommend-size.md) for a site where you can add the size script. Bags need [a 3D file](../bags/see-on-body.md) in the AR library, not this plugin.

## At a glance

| | |
|--|--|
| You need | WordPress 6.2+, WooCommerce 8.0+, PHP 8.0+, a Dashboard API key, and public HTTPS photos of the shoes. |
| You connect | The plugin's settings page, then **Product Data → WEARFITS Try-On** on each shoe. |
| The shopper sees | **Virtual Try-On**. Desktop: QR code. Phone: the AR viewer. |
| You receive | A stored try-on URL on that product. Not a size. |

## 1. Create an API key

Sign in at [dash.wearfits.com](https://dash.wearfits.com) and create an API key. You will paste it into WooCommerce (or define `WEARFITS_SHOES_TRYON_API_KEY` in `wp-config.php`).

[Account, keys, and plans](../account/index.md) explains which bill this key belongs to.

## 2. Install the shoes plugin

Install **WEARFITS Shoes Tryon** (`wearfits-shoes-tryon`) from [WordPress.org](https://wordpress.org/plugins/wearfits-shoes-tryon/) and activate it.

Then open **WooCommerce → WEARFITS Try-On** and save the API key.

## 3. Digitize a shoe — or paste a URL

On a footwear product, open **Product Data → WEARFITS Try-On**:

- **Digitize with WEARFITS** — sends gallery image URLs to `POST /api/v1/shoe-3d` and stores the try-on link when the job finishes (typically a few minutes)
- **Paste a try-on URL** — if you already have a viewer link, no API call is required

Automatic digitization is limited to products in a shoe/footwear category (including common translations). You can retry if a job fails; an existing manual URL is left in place.

## 4. Storefront button

When a product has a try-on URL, a **Virtual Try-On** button appears on the product page. Desktop shoppers get a QR modal; mobile shoppers open AR directly.

## Clothing plugin (earlier stage)

**WEARFITS Clothing Try-On** embeds the clothing fitting room (iframe, shortcode `[wearfits_tryon]`, and a block). It does **not** offer the same photo-to-3D digitization as the shoes plugin. See [See a garment](../clothing/see-on-person.md) and the [clothing plugin guide](../woocommerce/clothing-plugin.md).
